Burlington will celebrate Juneteenth June 17-19

what is juneteenth?

Since the late 1800s, African Americans have celebrated Juneteenth, a commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States after the Civil War.

Burlington's Racial Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Office will celebrate Juneteenth from June 17th to 19th.

"Juneteenth: A Love Story" is a celebration of the love that the Black community shows even in the face of adversity.

Four main sites will host events: City Hall Park, Roosevelt Park, Battery Park, and Waterfront Park.

This year, Juneteenth coincides with Father's Day, which means Juneteenth will be the longest celebration day.
